The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) in a statement issued yesterday has strongly urged the Meghalaya government to take immediate action regarding the allotment of examination centres for students appearing in the Common University Entrance Test – Undergraduate (CUET-UG).
The union said that a large number of students from Meghalaya have been allotted exam centres outside the state, in cities such as Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Dispur, etc. This has become a recurring issue, causing undue stress and difficulty for students.
The pressure group said that it has previously raised this matter through official communication and public statements, including a letter to the Education Minister in March. Despite these efforts, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has failed to rectify the issue, indicating a disregard for the challenges faced by Meghalaya students.
