The Ri-Bhoi unit of the Khasi Students Union (KSU) lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner and Nongpoh police concerning three non-tribals who allegedly claimed to be residents of Umshaken village in order to fraudulently obtain voter ID cards (EPICs).
The KSU’s Umshaken unit had managed to uncover the case after filing a Right to Information (RTI) request at the election branch office.
The three accused have been identified as Shahajad Ali, Md Mahafuj Ali and Md Sukur Ali.
