The Department of Education today provided an update on the issue of disbursement of the post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students for 2023-24.
To date, a total of 11,858 out of 13,719 students have had their payment files successfully generated and submitted to the bank for processing.
“The concerned bank has been formally requested to expedite the transfer of funds to ensure timely credit to the beneficiaries’ accounts,” Vijay Kumar Mantri, Commissioner and Secretary in the Department of Education, stated in a press statement.
According to the department, for the remaining 1,861 beneficiaries, discrepancies in Aadhaar-bank account linkage have been identified.
The Education Department informed that to address this an SMS notification was sent to the affected students on April 22 requesting them to complete the necessary verification process within 15 days to facilitate the release of their scholarships.
