The office of the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), East Khasi Hills, organised the Janbhagidari (people’s participation) events in 11 PM Shri schools on July 27-28.
Events were held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School where the parents-teachers attended a quiz competition at Nongmensong Durbar SSA LP School; Raid Shabong Border Area Government Secondary School in Pynursla where the arts and crafts made by the students were displayed; and Sanmer Government LP School where a teachers’ workshop was organised in which there was a discussion on teaching learning materials (TLMs).
A cleanliness drive was organised at Sunshine Adventist SSA LP School, at Laitdiengsai Presbyterian SSA LP School, at Kynton Massar SSA LP School and at Umpohlieh Jingtip SSA LP School yesterday.
A quiz was organised at Ramakrishna Mission SSA LP School-Nongwar and at Mawser Presbyterian SSA LP School. A poem recitation competition was held at Lanjingshai SSA and RMSA Secondary School-Khadarmer.
The aim of these events was to raise awareness among the public about PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India), government schools that receive special attention and funding to boost the education they are able to offer.
