The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order a CBI probe against the NPP-led MDA government for gross and rampant acts of corruption and misappropriation of public funds in the State.
Taking cue from Shah’s election rally speech in North Tura that ‘Meghalaya is the most corrupt states in India’ the organization at a press conference today said they have written a letter requesting the Union Home Minister to direct the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to conduct necessary raids, seizures and the CBI, to take up investigation latest by February 23.
HITO president Donbok Dkhar said the organisation had also approached the Prime Minister’s office with regards to numerous scams and scandals in the state.
From coal scam to teachers’ recruitment, rice, Saubhagya, ISBT, New Assembly building collapse, ADC’s fund, smart meters, Smart city, purchase of police vehicles and the casino fiasco, the organisation said all these need to be investigated and book the corrupt ministers and officials for corruption-free and accountable governance in Meghalaya.
