The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) today forcibly shut the Jio office in Jowai after the company reportedly failed to act on its promise to improve the network in the area.
The Jaiñtia Hills unit of the pressure group said that it also plans on shutting all of the Jio towers in Jaiñtia Hills. How this will improve the network situation is not at all clear, however.
HITO said that, acting on complaints from members of the public, the pressure group submitted a memorandum to Jio on April 28 to which the manager in charge assured that the network would be improved within three days.
