Jowai, Jul 28: As part of the ongoing disaster management awareness and familiarisation programme, the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Guwahati, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of West Jaintia Hills, conducted an awareness session at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Ummulong today.
Teachers and students were given essential knowledge and practical skills to respond to emergencies.
NDRF personnel sensitised the participants on various natural and man-made disasters, disaster preparedness and emergency response. Demonstrations on basic search and rescue techniques, first aid, CPR and the correct use of emergency equipment were conducted to provide hand-on learning.
