Health Minister, AL Hek has called on health officials to intensify awareness campaigns on various health issues and to motivate people to register under the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) to avail financial benefit provided under the scheme.
Addressing health officials to mark the third anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Program through a sensitisation workshop organised by the State National Health Mission Hek applauded the front line workers of Health and Wellness Centers who made comprehensive primary health care a successful one.
He also highlighted the importance and scope of preventive and promotive health care through the Health and Wellness Centers in various parts of the State to ensure universal health coverage reach to every citizen of the state.
NHM Mission Director, Ram Kumar stressed on the quality service to be delivered at Health and Wellness centers by the constant skill building of front line workers. He also emphasized on the needs to provide these services to the community by system strengthening.
During the function, the Health Minister also released a Coffee table book which captures the AB- Health and Wellness centers journey in the State since 2018 along with 12 essential packages of service posters and a testimonial video.
He also felicitated the best performing Health and Wellness teams under various categories where West Garo Hills District was awarded the best performing CPHC District.
Others who spoke were Dr. R. F. Tariang, Director of Health Services, MCH & FW and Dr. S.S. Nongbri, State Nodal Officer, CPHC who highlighted at length about Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Program and its achievements in the state.
The topics for daylong workshop held at Moreau Institute of Integral Training (MIIT) included, “Orientation of CPHC, AB –HWC”, “Expanded range of Services for delivery of CHC through AB-HWCs” and “Action Plan for 2021-22” presented by State Zonal Manager CPHC and technical partner team Jhpiego.
