Given that India is experiencing a second wave of Covid-19 infections and Meghalaya is also seeing a small increase in daily cases, the Health Department has asked all health personnel and the public to be vigilant and disciplined.
“We have asked all health personnel and hospitals in the state to be vigilant given that Covid-19 cases have started rising again,” Director of Health Services, Dr Aman War, told Highland Post today.
“Everybody is at risk if they don’t take precautions except those who have already completed their doses of the Covid vaccination,” Dr War said. “My direct message to the public is that the Covid-19 pandemic is still on and all precautions and SOPs (standard operating procedures) must be strictly followed.”
Nine new coronavirus cases were detected in Meghalaya today, all of which were found in East Khasi Hills. The number of active infections in Meghalaya is 104, the highest it has been in recent times.
