A headless dead body of a man was found floating on Umiam river, Mawdun Iapngor, police said today.
The reason for the death was unknown.
East Khasi Hills superintendent of police in a statement today said the person is between the age of 30-40 years and 5.5 feet tall.
A case has been registered at Lumdiengjri Police Station.
The body has been kept at the Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification and claim.
