A free health camp that focused on screening of diabetic neuropathy and prevention and treatment of diabetic foot in patients was held at the Maia Multi-Speciality clinic in Khliehriat.
The camp which was attended by 31 patients was organised by the Physiotherapy Department of North East Adventist University, Khliehtyrshi in collaboration with the clinic.
Blood sugar testing and medical management for diabetes were provided by Dr. Nichwa LS Nongtdu Senior Consultant & Diabetologist Ex Senior resident of VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, Medical Monitor PV and Clinical Research of Bharat Serum and vaccine, Mumbai and Dr Robert John Nongtdu Medical Superintendent of Maia Multi-Speciality Clinic.
The screening of diabetic foot was overseen by Dr. Junita Kyndait (MPT in Neurology) HOD of Physiotherapy department, North East Adventist University and the students.
Preventive care, treatment, and counselling for diabetic foot were administered by Dr. Clarity Marwein (MPT in Community physiotherapy) Assistant professor of North East Adventist University), while dietary counselling for diabetic patients was offered by Dr. Algewazir Tlang (BPT) Cinical physiotherapist at the clinic.
