The Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) in East Jaiñtia Hills met with Deputy Commissioner seeking timely issuance of Scheduled Tribe, arms licenses and certificate of societies.
The organisation said citizens are experiencing significant inconvenience due to the delay in the services.
FKJGP district president, Deihok Sumer said that the delay in issuance of the certificate of the societies is because of the absence of a Sub-Registrar/Registrar of societies to sign challans and other relevant documents.
Sumer said for arms certificate or license an applicant has to wait for more than a year.
