The Nokrek Area Development Committee has filed a complaint with police accusing Public Works Department (PWD) officials and contractors of not finishing the project as was expected to.
Specifically, the organisation pointed to the absence of a retaining wall and missing bridge items. The officials were named as Sonny Pariat, Assistant Executive Engineer (Supervising Officer cum Officer preparing the Bill).
The contractors faked the measurement of soil stabilisation, the pressure group claimed. Still, the contractor was laid Rs 55 lakh.
The group also claimed that no retaining wall was built from Chainage 1409M to 1421M but a “false measurement” was used to get the payment of Rs 5.8 lakh cleared.
Regarding the bridge, the group alleged that it is missing an approach slab, curtain walls, flexible aprons, paining, etc. but payment was still made to the contractor.
