Fifteen farmers of two self help groups in Ri Bhoi were provided with farm tools by the ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra at a programme held in the office premises today.
The farming implements were provided by IARI, New Delhi under their NEH development programme which included wheel hand hoe and pedal operated paddy thresher.
Dr. M. Mokidul Islam, Principal Scientist & Head, KVK emphasised on using farm implements to reduce drudgery, enhance output and production.
Dr. Utpal Barua, SMS Horticulture and Albertson War, Farm Manager shared their experience on assemble, uses and maintenance of small farm implements for maximum efficiency output and durability of the machineries.
The programme was organized in collaboration with Ri Bhoi Farmers Union, Meghalaya.
