The office of the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) of Eastern West Khasi Hills organised a drug awareness programme and inter-school painting competition.
The event, held in collaboration with the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee and the Department of Social Welfare, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among families and youth.
Government officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner A Nongbri and SDSEO J Thyrniang, addressed the gathering, which comprised principals, teachers and students from various schools.
Students participated in slogan writing, drawing and painting competitions, with prizes and cash awards distributed to the winners. The event was part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Campaign, a joint initiative by the Central and State Governments to combat drug abuse.
