The office of the District Planning Officer of West Jaiñtia Hills in collaboration with the State Council of Science, Technology and Environment organised the District Children Science Congress as part of the 30th National
Children Science Congress 2022-2023 here yesterday.
Eight projects were presented by students from seven urban schools of Jowai.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and District Planning Officer, DD Syngai, graced the valedictory programme as the chief guest in the presence of Kiang Nangbah Government College Assistant Professor BR Suchiang and Selection Grade Lecturer S Kharbhih, who were the evaluators of the science congress.
The judges picked winning projects that will be featured in the State Children Science Congress 2022. In the junior category this was on ‘Black Noise’, a project by Dasani-i-ki Pasi and Soophidari Lyngdoh of Jaintia Higher Secondary School. The selected senior category projects are on ‘Food, Nutrition, Health & Fitness’, a project by Fiona Phawa and Susan Janong of St. Michael & All Angels Secondary School, and ‘Multi Container Marketing Bags’, a project by Evelyn Talang and Nipaia Talang of Jaiñtia Higher Secondary School.
