The permanent building for the Sub-Divisional Court in Dadenggre was inaugurated on Saturday by Justice IP Mukerji, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, along with several dignitaries including Law Minister M Ampareen Lyngdoh, Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma, Justices HS Thangkhiew and W Diengdoh, and Dadenggre MLA Rupa M Marak.
Justice Thangkhiew commended all departments involved and applauded lawyers and legal professionals for their dedication to upholding justice. He stated that the new Sub-Divisional Court in Dadenggre serves as a beacon of hope for justice delivery, not only for the people of Dadenggre but for the entire Garo Hills region and the state. He urged everyone to work collectively to ensure the court functions efficiently and concluded by saying, “The ultimate goal is to ensure that the new court building brings justice directly to the people, making it more accessible and effective.”
Justice Mukerji, addressed the assembly virtually, discussing the historical background and development of the court complex, as well as the separation of the Sub-Divisional Court and Judicial Closure. He also emphasized the importance and advantages of the newly constructed Sub-Divisional Court in Dadenggre.
