School teacher candidates who have passed the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) are still waiting for the recruitment process to begin in Dadenggre even as it has begun in other parts of the state.
One such candidate has informed Highland Post that, although advertisements were issued two years ago, there has been “no sign” of the interview process beginning.
Adverts for posts in government lower primary schools across the state have also been issued and interviews are ongoing except in Dadenggre, the candidate claimed.
As MTET-passed teachers continue to wait, teachers are hired on short term contracts and even those who have failed the MTET get these temporary jobs, he added.
The aggrieved candidate wondered out loud whether, because Dadenggre voted for an opposition politician at this year’s state election, it is being singled out for special treatment by the government.
