The Additional Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) North East Zone headquarters, Binod Kumar Singh, visited Shillong as part of a strategic visit aimed at bolstering security measures in the region.
Singh arrived today to engage in discussions and assessments related to security dynamics in the region. The visit underscored the CRPF’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Meghalaya, the force said in a press release.
During the visit, Singh held high-level meetings with Inspector Generals, DIGs, Commandants and other ranks, as well as local government officials, law enforcement agencies and security experts. These discussions revolved around the evolving security challenges in the region and the collaborative efforts required to address them effectively.
The ADG also reviewed the ongoing initiatives undertaken by the 67th Battalion of the CRPF personnel in Meghalaya and acknowledged their dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security.
In addition to strategic discussions, Singh took the opportunity to interact with the personnel of the battalion stationed in Shillong. He also visited the North-Eastern Sector Headquarters at Bishop Cotton Road and observed firsthand the operational readiness and capabilities of the CRPF units in the area.
This allowed him to gain valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by the CRPF personnel while serving in the picturesque yet demanding terrain of Meghalaya, the press release added.
