In an effort to continue in fighting the sharp spike of Covid-19 in his constituency and Ri-Bhoi overall, Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem held a review meeting organised by the local Covid coordination committee.
Deputy Commissioner RM Kurbah, Superintendent of Police Nazarious Lamare and health officials were present at the meeting.
The attendees discussed all the relevant matters concerning the coronavirus situation in the district, especially the issues faced by frontline workers.
Syiem also pointed to the “inadequate” healthcare facilities provided by the government in the ongoing fight, with Ri-Bhoi still lacking a dedicated Covid hospital, as well as manpower and equipment shortages.
