There were three new Covid-related deaths recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 113 new infections and 173 recoveries.
Although down from historic highs, the figure of three deaths is the highest this month and above the seven-day rolling average of 1.71.
Two deaths were in West Jaiñtia Hills and one in East Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
West Khasi Hills recorded 55 new cases today, East Khasi Hills 37 (the second-lowest since August 31) and 21 between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 82 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 66, West Jaiñtia Hills 15 and 10 between the other eight districts.
There are now 1,310 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 721 active cases, West Khasi Hills 295, West Jaiñtia Hills 144, Ri-Bhoi 73, West Garo Hills 23, South West Khasi Hills 22, East Jaiñtia Hills 12, East Garo Hills 10, South West Garo Hills five, North Garo Hills three and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 82,068 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,310 are active, 79,346 have recovered and 1,412 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 96.68 percent. The fatality is 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 129.57 (lowest since April 22) and for new deaths is 1.71.
