The statewide recovery rate from Covid-19 inched further towards 90 percent with another 71 recoveries from the virus reported in Meghalaya today. Seventy-two recoveries were also recorded in the last 24 hours, with no new fatalities.
With 9,312 recoveries out of a total of 10,368 infections, the recovery rate is now 89.81 percent. There are 962 active cases and a total of 94 coronavirus-related deaths.
Of the new infections today, 22 were in East Khasi Hills, 11 in East Jaiñtia Hills, 10 in West Jaiñtia Hills, six in East Garo Hills, six in Ri-Bhoi, six in South Garo Hills, six in West Garo Hills, two in North Garo Hills, two in South West Garo Hills and one in West Khasi Hills.
Of the new recoveries, 46 were in East Khasi Hills, 12 in West Garo Hills, five in East Jaiñtia Hills, five in Ri-Bhoi and one each in East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and West Jaiñtia Hills.
The Health Department also informed that two Covid-19 cases from West Jaiñtia Hills and one from South West Khasi Hills were moved to East Khasi Hills. There were approximately 1,500 Covid tests carried out today.
