Meghalaya recorded five new Covid-related deaths today, the joint lowest figure for a single day since May 10. There were also 438 new cases (the lowest this month) and 689 recoveries.
In the first week alone of this month there have been 5,053 recoveries from the virus recorded.
Two fatalities were added to East Khasi Hills’ figures today, with two in West Khasi Hills and one in Ri-Bhoi.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 206 of today’s reported infections. West Jaintia Hills reported 115, Ri-Bhoi 60, East Jaintia Hills 16, West Garo Hills 15, East Garo Hills six, South Garo Hills six, South West Khasi Hills five, West Khasi Hills four, North Garo Hills three and South West Garo Hills two.
There were also 689 recoveries today – 349 in East Khasi Hills, 77 in Ri-Bhoi, 75 West Garo Hills, 48 in South West Garo Hills, 33 West Jaintia Hills, 27 in West Khasi Hills, 24 in East Jaintia Hills, 15 in North Garo Hills, 15 in East Garo Hills, in South West Khasi Hills and 12 in South Garo Hills.
There are now 5,327 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 2,220 active cases, West Garo Hills 649, West Jaintia Hills 638, Ri-Bhoi 591, South West Garo Hills 335, South West Khasi Hills 231, East Jaintia Hills 183, North Garo Hills 151, West Khasi Hills 139, East Garo Hills 102 and South Garo Hills 88.
In all, Meghalaya has had 39,156 Covid-19 cases, of which 5,327 are active, 33,160 have recovered and 669 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 84.69 percent. The fatality rate is 1.71 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases has dropped to 508.29.
