Ri-Bhoi doubled its number of recoveries from Covid-19 today with 71 recorded in the district, of which 56 were police personnel. Ri-Bhoi’s total recoveries this month now stand at 137.
West Khasi Hills’ number of active cases, meanwhile, came down by half to seven with as many recoveries recorded today.
Ri-Bhoi has now dropped to second in the list of districts with active Covid cases. It has 253 now compared to East Khasi Hills’ 288.
There were 67 new infections reported in all today and 129 recoveries.
The new infections were divided between East Khasi Hills (26), Ri-Bhoi (11), West Garo Hills (10), East Jaiñtia Hills (nine), South Garo Hills (four), East Garo Hills (two), South West Garo Hills (two), North Garo Hills (one), South West Khasi Hills (one) and West Jaiñtia Hills (one).
The recoveries were split between Ri-Bhoi (71), East Khasi Hills (34), West Garo Hills (eight), West Khasi Hills (seven), West Jaiñtia Hills (five), East Garo Hills (two), East Jaiñtia Hills (one) and South West Khasi Hills (one).
The Health Department also informed that two influenza like illnesses (ILIs) from West Jaiñtia Hills were moved to East Khasi Hills where they are receiving treatment in NEIGRIHMS. One Covid case from East Khasi Hills was also transferred to South West Khasi Hills.
In all, Meghalaya has had 10,296 Covid-19 cases, of which 961 are active, 9,241 have recovered and 94 ended in fatalities.
