There was one new Covid-related fatality in Meghalaya today, the first such death in a week. There were also 14 new infections and 30 recoveries recorded.
The lone death was of an unvaccinated person in East Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
In total, East Khasi Hills recorded eight new cases, West Khasi Hills four and Ri-Bhoi two.
East Khasi Hills also accounted for 24 recoveries, with three in Ri-Bhoi, two in East Garo Hills and one in East Jaiñtia Hills.
There are now 339 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 255 active cases, West Khasi Hills 23, East Garo Hills 19, West Garo Hills 18, Ri-Bhoi 12, West Jaiñtia Hills 10, East Jaiñtia Hills two, South Garo Hills zero, South West Garo Hills zero, South West Khasi Hills zero and North Garo Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 84,378 Covid-19 cases, of which 339 are active, 82,571 have recovered and 1,468 have died from the virus.
