There was a new Covid-related fatality recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 17 new cases and 32 recoveries.
The death was reported from East Khasi Hills and was of an unvaccinated person, the Health Department informed.
In total, East Khasi Hills recorded 14 new cases and Ri-Bhoi three.
East Khasi Hills also accounted for 23 recoveries, with four in West Khasi Hills, two in West Garo Hills and one each in East Garo Hills, East Jaiñtia Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
There are now 285 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 237 active cases, West Khasi Hills 13, West Jaiñtia Hills 10, Ri-Bhoi 10, West Garo Hills nine, East Garo Hills five, East Jaiñtia Hills one, South Garo Hills zero, South West Garo Hills zero, South West Khasi Hills zero and North Garo Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 84,461 Covid-19 cases, of which 285 are active, 82,704 have recovered and 1,472 have died from the virus.
