There were 71 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, the highest in more than one month. There were also 12 recoveries and no fatalities.
The bulk of the cases (39) were reported from Little Flower Convent in East Khasi Hills.
In total, East Khasi Hills recorded 66 new cases, West Khasi Hills two, West Garo Hills two and East Garo Hills one.
East Khasi Hills also accounted for seven recoveries, with two in West Khasi Hills and one each in West Jaiñtia Hills, West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
There are now 356 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 272 active cases, East Garo Hills 21, West Khasi Hills 19, West Garo Hills 18, Ri-Bhoi 13, West Jaiñtia Hills 10, East Jaiñtia Hills three, South Garo Hills zero, South West Garo Hills zero, South West Khasi Hills zero and North Garo Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 84,361 Covid-19 cases, of which 356 are active, 82,541 have recovered and 1,467 have died from the virus.
