There were 68 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Meghalaya today, along with 36 recoveries and no fatalities.
In all, Meghalaya has had 11,581 Covid-19 cases, of which 947 are active, 10,524 have recovered and 110 have died from the virus.
Of the new cases 50 were in East Khasi Hills, 10 in West Garo Hills, four in Ri-Bhoi, two in South West Garo Hills and one each in West Jaiñtia Hills and North Garo Hills.
In East Khasi Hills’ clusters, seven new infections were detected in Madanrting, four in Golflink, three in Lawsohtun, three in Pynthorbah and two each in Laban and Lumpyngngad Nongthymmai, Mawkhar, Mawlai Nongkwar, Motinagar and Umling. In West Garo Hills three were in Chandmari. All four positive cases in Ri-Bhoi were among health workers.
The new recoveries were split between East Khasi Hills (29), Ri-Bhoi (two), East Garo Hills (two), West Garo Hills (one), South West Garo Hills (one) and North Garo Hills (one).
One case also migrated from North Garo Hills to East Khasi Hills.
The Health Department also informed that around 1,500 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.
