There were 52 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Meghalaya today, along with 82 recoveries and no fatalities.
In all, Meghalaya has had 11,633 Covid-19 cases, of which 917 are active, 10,606 have recovered and 110 have died from the virus.
Of the new cases 34 were in East Khasi Hills, 10 in West Garo Hills, five in South West Garo Hills, two in East Garo Hills and one in Ri-Bhoi. This was the lowest single day increase in cases since November 16.
In East Khasi Hills’ clusters, six new infections were detected in Nongthymmai Lumbhalang/Lumpyngad, three in Mawlai Mawdatbaki, two in Lamavilla and one each in Laban, Oakland and Police Bazar. Three health workers tested positive for the coronavirus in West Garo Hills, along with one each in East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
The new recoveries were split between East Khasi Hills (46), West Garo Hills (14), East Garo Hills (seven), East Jaiñtia Hills (seven), South West Garo Hills (five), Ri-Bhoi (one), North Garo Hills (one) and South Garo Hills (one).
The Health Department also informed that around 1,300 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.
