A further 12 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today. There were also 12 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Of the new cases today, 11 were in East Khasi Hills and one in East Jaintia Hills.
In East Khasi Hills seven of the new cases were reported from the Umpling cluster, with two in Laitumkhrah and one in Nongrim Hills. One positive case was also detected in a returnee.
Seven recoveries were located among residents of West Jaintia Hills, two in East Khasi Hills and one each in South Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,705 Covid-19 cases, of which 148 are active, 13,413 have recovered and 144 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.87 percent. The fatality rate is 1.05 percent.
