A further 20 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today. There were also 24 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Of the new cases today, 17 were in East Khasi Hills and one each in West Jaiñtia Hills, West Khasi Hills and East Jaiñtia Hills.
Four of the new cases in East Khasi Hills were among armed forces/paramilitaries, three among returnees and one each in the Laitumkhrah, Malki, Nongrah, Nongthymmai, Polo and Sadew clusters.
The recoveries were divided between East Khasi Hills (19), West Garo Hills (three) and West Khasi Hills (two).
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,631 Covid-19 cases, of which 151 are active, 13,337 have recovered and 143 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 97.84 percent. The fatality rate is 1.05 percent.
The Health Department also informed that around 800 Covid tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
