With another 44 recoveries recorded in the district today, East Khasi Hills has now had 6,025 recoveries from Covid-19, with its recovery rate climbing to 94.45 percent.
There were 70 new infections reported today, 87 recoveries and zero fatalities.
Of the new cases, 31 were reported in East Khasi Hills, 19 in Ri-Bhoi, six in East Garo Hills, six in West Garo Hills, three in South Garo Hills, two in East Jaintia Hills, two in South West Garo Hills and one in West Jaintia Hills.
Included in these figures are another 16 police personnel in Ri-Bhoi among the infected, along with 14 discovered in the Mawlai Mawiong cluster of East Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
Of the new recoveries, East Khasi Hills accounted for 44, West Jaintia Hills 18, East Jaintia Hills 10, West Garo Hills eight, East Garo Hills three, North Garo Hills two, West Khasi Hills one and Ri-Bhoi one.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Meghalaya now stands at 10,581. Active cases are at 1,028, recoveries at 9,455 and total deaths at 98. Ri-Bhoi continues to lead with the most active cases at 324.
There were roughly 1,200 Covid-19 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
