There were three new Covid-related fatalities in Meghalaya today, along with 49 new cases and 102 recoveries.
Two of the fatalities were in East Khasi Hills and the other in Ri-Bhoi. Two of the deceased were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 25 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 16 and there were eight between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 73 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 20 and nine between the other nine districts.
There are now 639 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 401 active cases, West Khasi Hills 120, West Jaintia Hills 50, Ri-Bhoi 33, West Garo Hills 15, East Garo Hills seven, East Jaintia Hills five, South West Garo Hills three, North Garo Hills two, South Garo Hills two and South West Khasi Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,371 Covid-19 cases, of which 639 are active, 81,286 have recovered and 1,446 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.50 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 59.71 and for new deaths is 1.57.
