Is Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in the habit of violating Covid-19 protocols?
Sangma who tested positive for Covid-19 on January 21 has joined office today at the State secretariat.
Tomorrow, he will unfurl the national flag at the Republic Day parade at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.
As per the latest protocols, a person who tested positive of Covid-19 has to remain in quarantine for seven days.
It may be noted that Governor Satya Pal Malik who tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday has gone for quarantine and has cancelled all his official programmes.
Further, the Governor will not attend the Republic Day parade at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here tomorrow.
“If the governor can adhere to Covid-19 protocols, why is the chief minister violating the same when the protocols were issued by his own government,” an official in the Health Department said today.
It may be recalled that Sangma had come under fire for violating the Covid norms when he recently attended large gatherings in Rajabala, West Garo Hills despite the order issued by the government banning all official, public and private gatherings in the State to stem the spread of Covid-19.
