The 1st North East FPO Conclave for farmer producer organisations (FPOs) concluded today at the College of Postgraduate Studies of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Umiam.
Mridula Pradhan, founder of Vikas Trust, was the chief guest at the valedictory function of the three-day event. She urged for a positive holistic approach between the FPOs and the farmers, thus enhancing the livelihood of agriculturists in this region.
An agreement was signed between the CAU and Vikas Trust, Odisha, for outreach activities to benefit farmers, a press release stated today.
Mayank Rai, Dean of the College, delivered the welcome address. VK Mishra, Director of ICAR for NEH Region, talked about the situation of the farmers in the country and, through this conclave, the farmers will be benefited through the FPOs.
