Shillong, Apr 18: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today felicitated the achievers of the SSLC Examination 2026 from the Garo Hills region at a programme held at his residence in Tura.
The felicitation programme was organised to recognise the relentless efforts of students who distinguished themselves academically during this year’s examinations. Last week, the chief minister felicitated toppers from the Khasi Hills region.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister emphasised the importance of education in shaping the future of Meghalaya. He encouraged all students to continue striving for excellence and maintaining focus on their academic goals. “Education is not merely about grades but about building the future, not only for oneself but for the society as a whole,” he said, highlighting the role of students in contributing positively through their acquired knowledge and skills.
During the event, the Chief Minister also acknowledged the invaluable contributions made by parents, teachers, and educational institutions in nurturing students. He noted that the combined efforts of all stakeholders are vital in laying a strong foundation for quality education in the state.
Furthermore, Sangma stressed the importance of humility and character, urging students to remain grounded regardless of their academic achievements. He concluded by thanking everyone present and wishing all students and schools continued success in their future endeavours.
