Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a four-day Summer Camp from July 11 to 14 in South West Garo Hills, at Mothers’ Union SSA UP School, Ampati.
A total of 215 students and 17 teaching staff, 11 Rovers and five Rangers took part.
The aim of the camp was to bring different schools and students together to give them awareness about different issues, such as drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, traffic rules, etc.
Resource persons were Dr Rikrak D Sangma of Ampati Civil Hospital and Sub-Inspectors Gaurav Koch and Samuel A Sangma of the police.
There were also different entertainment programmes for the children.
Taposh Ch Marak, Social Education Organiser (SEO), Ampati, was the chief guest of this programme. Prosaline M Sangma, headmistress of the host school, was the guest of honour.
