C&RD Minister Hamletson Dohling today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new block office in Mawkynrew.
He said the government had sanctioned Rs 120 crores to upgrade 40 block offices in the state, out of which Rs 2.77 crore will be allocated for the construction of the office at Mawkynrew that will commence soon.
Dohling said the block offices act as a bridge between the government and the public and therefore there is a need to improve the infrastructure and facilities for better service delivery.
He praised the functioning of the Mawkynrew block office and dwelt on the achievements of the Community and Rural Development particularly in regards to the implementation of the MGNREGS and the upsurge of the SHG movement in the state in the last few years.
Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh and SC Sadhu, Director, C&RD Department among others spoke on the occasion.
