South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Tableland Lyngwa has urged residents of the district to prioritize health and create awareness on the importance of routine check-ups, emphasizing the significance of early diagnosis and treatment in addressing illnesses
Speaking at a launch programme of the Ayushman Bhav campaign at Civil Hospital, Mawkyrwat, Lyngwa also appealed pregnant women to take proper care of their health at the initial stage and opt for institutional delivery to prevent any health complication that may arise during labour.
He highlighted the vital role played by ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) and Asha workers in raising awareness among the public regarding the various government schemes and services aimed at the welfare of the people. He encouraged the people of the district to take full advantage of these programs, especially in terms of regular health check-ups.
He also stressed on obtaining an Aadhaar Card, to link it to the smartcard to keep MHIS card active.
Lauding the dedication and diligence of the medical officers, staff and health care workers for their unwavering commitment to their duties and ensuring that proper healthcare services are provided to the residents, he expressed hope that additional healthcare facilities would be introduced soon in the district, ultimately benefiting the larger population.
Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr. Wanbudmi Sutnga said he is optimistic that about the potential addition of more healthcare facilities, including an Operation Theatre among others, to further enhance the overall standard of healthcare delivery in the district.
He also encouraged the public to make use of the KIOSK desk established at the hospital, where they can obtain information about various health schemes and services.
