Shillong, May 3: Around 600 litres of illegal liquor was seized in rains launched by police and Excise Department officials at different locations in Shillong on Saturday night.
Authorities raided places in Polo, Jeep Stand and Urkailar with the joint operation led by East Khasi Hills Additional Superintendent of Police Saurav Saini and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Women & Children Cell, Joyti Wahlang.
Officials said the operation targeted illicit liquor sales and distribution points in the three neighbourhoods.
The seized alcohol was handed over to the Excise Department for further legal action.
