The Dadenggre unit of the A’chik Students’ Welfare Association (ASWA) has written to the Director of School Education and Literacy, Swapnil Tembe, to request that teacher arrears are paid at the earliest.
In a letter dated today, ASWA said that ad hoc school teachers have not been paid their salaries for March and April. In addition, non-government Lower Primary school teachers have not been paid their dearness allowances.
“Without timely payment of their dues, teachers face significant financial challenges that impede their ability to perform their duties effectively,” ASWA said.
“This matter requires immediate attention to prevent further hardship for these dedicated educators,” it added, referring to the ad hoc teacher salaries.
The pressure group also said that it has seen a letter from Tembe to the Sub-Divisional Education Officer on May 7 sanctioning more than Rs 37 lakh for dearness allowance arrears but, nearly a month on, these have still not been cleared. “Could you please clarify the reason for this delay and ensure that the payments are processed without further delay?” ASWA asked.
