The Army Public School, Umroi conducted its investiture ceremony today to formally induct the newly elected members of the School Students’ Council (Stuco).
The event aimed to instill leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility among the students.
In a special tribute to the spirit of patriotism and regional pride, the school named its four Houses after renowned freedom fighters of Meghalaya – U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah, Ka Phan Nonglait and Pa Togan Sangma.
The chief guest for the ceremony was the Chairman of APS Umroi Mayur Shekatkar and guest of honour was Tanuja Shekatkar. The ceremony began with the presentation of sashes to the student leaders, followed by the oath-taking ceremony. The solemn occasion continued with the singing of the school anthem and concluded with the National Anthem.
The Stuco comprises 12 students from Classes 8 through 10.
