Reliance Jio has emerged as the fastest-growing telecom operator in the North East Telecom Circle, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for May 2025.
Jio added over 37,000 new wireless subscribers in May across six North East states – Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. This makes Jio the top contributor to mobile subscriber growth in the region during the month.
In comparison, the nearest competitor added around 11,000 new subscribers.
Jio added 8,742 new broadband users in the North East in May, taking the total from 2.73 lakh to 2.82 lakh.
