The Achik Youth Welfare Organisation (AYWO) has sought clarification from the Ayush Society in South West Garo Hills with regards to the recent appointment of six non-tribal candidates as Ayush Medical Officers and a Yoga Instructor.
The organisation met with the Deputy Commissioner-cum- Chairman of the AYUSH Mission with an appeal to immediately suspend the ongoing recruitment drive to ensure the interests of the indigenous tribal population are safeguarded.
The AYWO stressed on the need for a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment policy that prioritises opportunities for local tribal candidates in accordance with constitutional protections and state regulations.
The organisation said the chairman acknowledged the gravity of the issue and assured the delegation that a discussion would be held with other officials of the Ayush Society and the District Medical & Health Officer within a week to provide a detailed clarification on the recruitment.
