The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Mawlai circle today pushed back labourers from Assam without valid documents.
According to the KSU, the workers were travelling in a bus from Pynursla area and were headed to various parts of Shillong, including Mawlai, without work permit.
The KSU further maintained that they will continue to check work permit to ensure that non-locals do not illegal enter the state and said that employers should not employ people from outside sans valid documents.
