A workshop on ‘Basic Life Support’ and consultative meet with the Shillong Traffic police was today organised by the Child Friendly Shillong, a project under Bosco Integrated Development Society.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Shillong Civil Hospital and office of the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) to train traffic personnel on how to give immediate first aid and basic life support in accident cases, as they are the first respondents.
A discussion was also held on how to make roads safer for children.
A total of 17 participants from six different police stations participated in the workshop wherein they were trained on how to handle accident victims, to immobilise fractured or broken parts and how to perform CPR in emergency cases.
