Social activist Bostone Sangma has requested that the authorities pay compensation to three electrocution victims, one of whom succumbed to his injuries.
It was on the morning of July 9 that three villagers of Chenggapara, West Garo Hills, were electrocuted, allegedly due to negligence by the power utility in maintaining the line that feeds the village electricity.
The three were identified as Brian Donseng M Marak, Epsilla N Marak and Blessa Glory S Sangma, the latter a 1-year-old child. While the child and Epsilla received injuries, Brian (22) was killed on the spot.
An FIR in this regard was filed today at Purakhasia police outpost.
