A 50-year old man was arrested by East Jaintia Hills police in possession of drugs near Lumshnong today.
The arrested person was identified as Shorif Uddin of Bhairabpur in Cachar, Assam.
Police said his arrest was made by the ANTF along with officers and staff of Lumshnong police station while he was proceeding from Kalain to Khliehriat. Six soap cases containing 63.12 grams of suspected heroin was seized from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of NDPS was registered at Lumshnong PS.
