Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that Meghalaya can experience the same development as that in Assam, if led by a BJP government.
Addressing four public meetings in Garo Hills at Mahendraganj, Rongjeng, Mendipathar and Kharkutta , Sarma drew a comparison to the speed of execution of central government schemes in Assam vis-a-vis Meghalaya.
He referred to the PM Awas Yojn aand Arun Uday scheme, which he said were running successfully in Assam, and said that these schemes will truly reach the people of Meghalaya if a BJP government is elected to remove the corruption from in-between.
Sarma said the BJP government in Assam had promised to give employment to one lakh youth last year and that 50,000 young people have already been given appointments. “The youth of Meghalaya are reeling under the burden of unemployment and only the BJP can bring sustainable development that will create employment in the state,” he said.
