Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Shillong on December 18 as part of the 50th anniversary of the North Eastern Council (NEC).
The whirlwind trip will see the PM spend a few hours attending two official programmes, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed today. It is not known whether he will also attend any BJP-centric programme or other function.
Sangma informed that all necessary security arrangements will be made.
“Since it is the Prime Minister visiting the state, security will be looked at from the Special Protection Group (SPG), so all necessary arrangements are being made,” he said.
